COLVM – Lawrence V. McDonald Jr.

Tons (literally) of dark grey-blue concrete tile arrived at Madison Green this past week. The 30″ long x 42″ wide tiles are 1″ thick and were custom cast by hand for this project.

For the last several months Colvm has been combining two historic co-op apartments (one over the other through a disused airshaft) into one single family residence on the Upper West Side. A few photographs of this residence for a filmmaker located on 250 acres in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The salvaged 200 year old beams counter-point a modern scissor truss roof system under construction.
